day twenty-three
average day.
mornings - wake up around 9 to 10. check time and try to remember day of the week. try to remember what to do for that day. cook breakfast, usually corned beef and scrambled eggs. yosi afterwards with a glass of iced tea. sit on the pc and check stuff on the net. about 15-30 mins after the first stick, i start to feel number 2. after that i go back to the pc then yosi eventually.
afternoons - usually when i have something to do in the afternoon, it would just be someone to meet. take a bath around 12. leave the house around 1pm. yosi in the car on the way to wherever. at least 2 sticks. most likely meet with some friends, if i am lucky i wouldn’t have to wait. if not, then its yosi time. when we do meet each other, we still have yosi on the way to wherever we are headed. usually makati or ortigas. watch a movie or eat out at a resto. eat too much as if it was late lunch or early dinner. and since we just ate, yosi afterwards. these are weekends and when i still did not have a job. when i started working, yosi after lunch and again around at 3pm. when i get out of the office at 6pm, i would quickly smoke another one before the jeepney comes.
evenings - if i stay home early evening i smoke after dinner. i only smoke again around 12 midnight and after and most of the time spent in front of the pc. but if i was out, well there are so many scenarios.. there would always be smoking after dinner. if we get coffee, we smoke. if i was drinking beer i smoke more, even if i was the only one who did. playing mahjong, we smoke the entire time we were playing. and when its time to go home, regardless of how many i’ve smoked or what the time is i still smoke on the way back driving. if it was still around 1am when i get back i’d manage to smoke 1 or 2 sticks before i sleep. the only time i would be forced not to smoke if i was not inside my own car.
that was me at the height of my habit. i based what i described above on the day i experienced the heartburn that scared me. 10 sticks a day were normal for me. it’s crazy..
