day ten

a little wisdom from marct. sheesh. didn’t really think of the picture that way at all.

so since we are in the mood for sharing little bits of information here are some more useless ones:

• i use this somewhat hand-sign to ask someone for yosi. i point my index finger on the middle of my lips, mouth closed. if you know the hand-sign dr.evil makes with the pinky, almost similar but doesn’t look as stupid.
• i had a habit of exhaling the smoke through the corners of my mouth. sometimes i would even do like a wave where it starts from one corner and crosses to the other. i haven’t made any successful sinusoidal waves out of it, sad to say.
• when i throw a cigarette butt, i flick it in such a way that the filter would separate from the leftover tobacco embers. i don’t know why i do it.
• drosan and liwag used to smoke marlboro lights, but they say winston is better because its not that irritating to the throat. they were teachers so they needed their voice. now liwag smokes gudang garam, the ones where it takes 30 minutes to finish one stick. or approximately 30 minutes.
• myk is the only friend i know that smokes who is also a health buff and a singer. whenever he had a gig, he would stop smoking for a few days before that day. he’s also one of those who keeps saying he’s quit smoking. remember it’s BS if you hear him say it. again.
  
• madz was someone i bonded with through smoking. we just met, we were eating at red crab morato with some friends when i heard her ask the waiter “kuya puede po ba magyosi dito sa loob?”. my mind quickly formulated a plan. after eating i went out to smoke, bought one from a vendor across the street. she went out also, asked with a big lovable grin if i had another stick and i dragged her to cross the street again. all the time with that big stupid grin that totally works on me. i think that is the only true time that i was smoking because i was tense. afterwards she would continually ask me for yosi like her personal takatak boy. and i liked it. anyway, before lighting the cigarette madz would say “one stick lang”, which is true but i really don’t know why she has to state that everytime. with that grin. grrrrrrin.
  
• my tita fe keeps justifying the smoking habits of the manansala clan by saying that it will prevent the acute alzheimer’s disease that afflicted our lolo. so its a choice of that or lung/heart disease.
• i would bet that brader micoi is the last person i know who would smoke. i’d also bet he would be the last person i know to quit drinking.
• you know that feeling that when you are consenting the smoking habits of your friend and their parents disapprove? it’s the opposite for micoi and tita jo, his mother. when i give tita jo a stick, i always feel that micoi is shaking and scratching the back of his head. that’s the signature micoi-is-annoyed move.
• the reason i tried smoking lucky strikes was because of the hbo series band of brothers.
  
• there was a period in college where my lunch would be yosi and pop cola.
• whenever we have mahjong sessions, we have yosi breaks between rounds. it helps soothe the feelings of those who paid to the winner.
• power-steering in cars was invented to benefit smokers. hehe.. tapos totoo pala noh?
• i don’t know anyone who uses the ashtray in their car to hold ash. because i would assume you need mental help if you smoke inside your car with the a/c on.
  
• i have a no smoking poster in my room which i pasted on the wall when i was not yet smoking. i think i was 15 at that time. i have no idea why i did it, but i’m pretty sure i didn’t put it up because i don’t like smoking. duh?
  
• jing, also known as mama jing, is the sexiest smoker i know. this is the most useless info i can put here hehe.
